“Sa/eitenwechsel”
Salon discussion on faith – culture – society
Description
Based on the German-Jewish salon culture of the 18th/19th century. Eliah Sakakushev-von Bismarck, Director of Villa Seligmann, and Prof. Dr. René Dausner, University Professor of Systematic Theology at the University of Hildesheim and Leibniz Universität Hannover, once again invite you to the “Saiten- bzw. Seitenwechsel” – the salon discussion on culture, faith and society.
The “Sa/eitenwechsel” series offers a platform for networking and a sounding board. In it, art, music and philosophy interact with each other and questions of faith are discussed. The events also include a musical program that also draws on the rich Christian-Jewish musical tradition. With the “Salongespräch”, the Villa Seligmann, in cooperation with the Universities of Hildesheim and Hanover, offers a discursive format that cordially invites all participants to a subsequent exchange with a drinks buffet.
The theologian Dr. Petra Bahr will be our guest for this season’s episode. The focus is on the concepts of “freedom” and “exodus” from a Jewish, Catholic and Protestant perspective.
Dr. Petra Bahr is the regional bishop for the Hanover district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover. After training as a journalist, she studied theology and philosophy in Münster, Bochum and Jerusalem and was a lecturer in for theology at the Research Center of the Protestant Study Community in Heidelberg. She was a cultural representative of the Council of the Protestant Church in Germany and headed the Policy and Advice Department of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation e.V.
