Description

In our SPURENSUCHE series, we guide you through the magnificent Villa Seligmann in the heart of Hanover. Since its reopening in 2012, Villa Seligmann has become a beacon of Jewish music and culture. It offers an international forum for people to come together: Regardless of their origin, religion or cultural background. Renowned experts will give presentations on various topics and allow you to take a look into the past and behind the scenes. The historical building and of course the history of the
history of the Seligmann family
take center stage.

In his popular guided tour, historian Dr. Peter Schulze sheds light on Siegmund Seligmann’s role in historical events as an honorary citizen of the city of Hanover. The socio-political developments surrounding his family residence – the Villa Seligmann – also play an important role.

Dr. Peter Schulze
(*1952) studied social sciences and history in Hanover. With his research, publications and exhibitions on Hanoverian city history and the history of the Jews in Hanover, he is one of the most important experts in the field.
