The former family residence of factory director Siegmund Seligmann is a rare testimony to upper-class Jewry at the beginning of the 20th century and up until the Shoah. High-ranking guests and business partners were received in the lavishly furnished historicist villa. Today, Villa Seligmann is a place of living Jewish culture.
At the Night of the Museums visitors have the rare opportunity to admire the architecture and interior of the building as well as its works of art. The three large-format, neo-baroque paintings by Ferdinand Wagner (1847-1927) “The Three Senses” will be presented to the general public for the first time. The paintings were reintroduced to Villa Seligmann with a ceremony on April 20, 2023. Read more about this here.
The rich evening program offers insights into the history of the house and family, but also into the process of the elaborate restoration in guided tours with experts. Jewish piano and organ music will also be performed.
