“Judeo alla turca” is a journey into the 16th century of southern Europe and the Orient: we experience the musical simultaneity of the courtly art music of the Spanish Siglo de Oro by Luis de Milán (around 1500-1561), Enriquez de Valderrabano (ca.1500-after 1557), Bartolomeo de Selma y Salaverde (1580-1640) and Andrea Falconieri (1585-1656) alongside the medieval Cantigas de Santa María and Sephardic vocal music in the Ladino language from Izmir, Thessaloniki and Sarajevo.
