About the AG Jewish Collections

At the
AG Jewish Collections
was founded in Cologne in 1976 as a loose association of various institutions such as Jewish museums, memorials, former synagogues, libraries, research institutions and individuals from Germany, Austria and Switzerland working in this field. In recent years, institutions from Belgium, the Netherlands, England, Israel, the USA and Eastern European countries have also joined.

About the European Center for Jewish Music

As part of the musicological research and teaching at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media (HMTMH), the EZJM is dedicated to researching, reconstructing, documenting and communicating Jewish music in all its forms: from synagogue singing to paraliturgical and secular music traditions of Jews in various cultural contexts and epochs. A central perspective is the integration of Jewish music into the complex lifeworlds of Jews in the past and present, both in Europe and in countries outside Europe.
