Family celebration with the youth group “Shabbes Jam” and Rabbi Alina Treiger from Oldenburg
On March 8, we celebrate Purim – “the Jewish carnival festival”. We invite you to a thoroughly cheerful family celebration with music, stories, games and hamantaschen. We warmly welcome the Jewish community of Oldenburg with Rabbi and Cantor Alina Treiger and the youth group Shabbes Jam.
Everyone is cordially invited to attend this exuberant celebration, learn more about the origins and customs of Purim and treat yourself to a transformation by dressing up as you wish!
Alina Treiger was born into a Jewish family in the Ukraine. At the age of 21, she founded the liberal Jewish community “Beit Am” in her home town of Poltava and subsequently trained as a rabbi at the Abraham Geiger College at the University of Potsdam. She is the first female rabbi after the Shoa and the second female rabbi ever to be ordained in Germany.
The motto of the event is PWYW (Pay What You Want). We do not charge admission for the Purim celebration and are therefore happy to receive a donation.
