Matinee of the Friends 2022
Chamber concert
For the members and guests of the Friends of Villa Seligmann e.V.
Description
Eliah Sakakushev-von Bismarck, Cello
Donka Angatscheva, piano
With the annual matinee, the Friends of Villa Seligmann e.V. thank its members for their support of the cultural work of Villa Seligmann.
This year’s morning concert will feature the renowned cellist and Managing Director of Villa Seligmann Eliah Sakakushev-von Bismarck. His duo partner is the internationally renowned pianist with Bulgarian roots Donka Angatschewa.
The focus of the concert program is the great D major Sonata by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy op. 58. The slow movement of this sonata is often described as the most “Jewish” piece of music in the composer’s otherwise not necessarily “Jewish” oeuvre. The program is complemented by Ernest Bloch’s popular “Three Scenes from Jewish Life” (1924), which are often perceived as “Hasidic sound pictures”.
The event is aimed at members of the Freundeskreis.
Further information about membership of the association can be found here.
