The Masha Ray project by Maria Raykhman and Roman Andor ranges musically from electro swing, dancehall and pop to Balkan beats and klezmer. Masha Ray will be performing on the open-air stage at Villa Seligmann for the first time and will captivate the Hanoverian audience with her danceable vintage sound.
The artist duo consisting of singer Maria Raykhman and producer and DJ Roman Andor met during a songwriter camp in Rotterdam. Their vintage dance sound was born from Raykhman’s Ukrainian roots and Eastern European musical training on the one hand and Andor’s rich trumpet sounds and beats on the other. The line-up varies from a duo performance to an ensemble with drums, bass, winds and strings. The combination of Raykhman’s seductively sweet voice, the bitingly ironic lyrics and the decadent retro production make up the Masha Ray project.
