The organ of the synagogue
A musical snapshot
Musical lecture as part of the DEK Hannover 2025
Description
Eliah Sakakushev-von Bismarck (Director of Villa Seligmann) and Martin Lüssenhop (President of the Lower Saxony Choral Association and Director of the North German Synagogal Choir) will illustrate the historical significance of the organ in Jewish worship and its current relevance. The technical and artistic features of the in-house Sauer organ will also be discussed.
The role of the “Jewish organ” is reflected musically through liturgical chants performed by the North German Synagogal Choir.
The event is open to all and admission is free. It is taking place as part of the German Protestant Church Congress Hanover 2025. Due to limited capacity, please register in advance: anmeldung@villa-seligmann.de
