Cantor Isidoro Abramowicz released his debut CD “Schire Simroh” together with organist Jakub Stefek in 2021 – a tribute to Arno Nadel, who was murdered in Auschwitz in 1943.

As well as being a teacher, Arno Nadel was also a poet, philosopher, playwright, religious scholar, translator, painter and graphic artist, composer, musicologist and literary scholar, ethnologist, choir conductor, pianist, organist and music journalist. Unfortunately, a large part of his estate did not survive the Second World War. The wealth of surviving manuscripts and published works is nevertheless almost impossible to keep track of.

With the CD “Schire Simroh”, Isidoro Abramowicz, cantor of the Pestalozzi Street Synagogue in Berlin and head of the cantor training program at the Abraham Geiger College, lays the foundation for further exploration of the œuvre of this multi-talented composer, to name just one of Arno Nadel’s many vocations.

Visitors can look forward to a special evening with liturgical settings by Arno Nadel. Be there when the Great Hall of Villa Seligmann is once again filled with the sounds of the organ and synagogue chants!

Admission is one hour before the start of the event.
