August 19, 2023 marks the 170th anniversary of the Siegmund Seligmann’s birthday. To mark this special anniversary, historian Dr. Peter Schulze focuses on the Jewish privy councillor of commerce and factory director of Continental AG. In his popular guided tour, Dr. Schulze sheds light on Siegmund Seligmann’s role in historical events as an honorary citizen of the city of Hanover and the socio-political developments surrounding his family residence – the Villa Seligmann.
Dr. Peter Schulze (1952) completed his studies in social sciences and history in Hanover. With his research, publications and exhibitions on Hanoverian city history and the history of the Jews in Hanover, he is one of the most important experts in the field.
Admission is from 30 minutes before the start of the event.
