Description

+++ postponed from March 25, 2020 +++

Rupert Bergmann, bass-baritone
Tzveta Dimitrova, piano

Passover plays a central role in Judaism. Described as the Festival of Freedom or the Festival of Matzah, the eight-day pilgrimage festival refers to the biblical story of the Exodus, the (meta-)physical liberation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, as well as all the signs and wonders associated with it. The figure of Moses as the heaven-called leader is naturally at the center of the narrative.

The Austrian bass-baritone Rupert Bergmann and the pianist Tzveta Dimitrova span a musical arc over the various epochs, from Haydn to Dvořák to the 20th century and the present day with works by Haas, Ullmann and Alexander Kukelka. The program also includes the German premiere of the scenic cantata “The Calling of Moses”, composed in 2019 by Tzveta Dimitrova.

Before the concert begins, we cordially invite you to a SALON TALK on the subject of Passover.

Tickets at 26 euros (Great Hall) and 18 euros (Salon)
Erm. 8 Euro
