Knowledge on fire
Commemorative event for the book burning
With pupils from the Helene Lange School
Description
To mark the anniversary of the book burning of 1933, year 10 pupils from the Helene Lange School in Hanover are organizing a multifaceted commemorative event. They are presenting the results of their project days on the subject of democracy and remembrance to the public for the first time at Villa Seligmann. Part of the project includes an interactive art installation, which leads to the specially created website of the project days, the presentation of recorded interviews on the subject of remembrance and commemoration in public spaces in Hanover, as well as an examination of authors whose works fell victim to the book burning. At the end of the event, the audience is invited to a short discussion with the pupils.
The event is aimed at relatives and friends of the students involved, as well as interested members of the public.
Admission is free. Due to limited capacity, registration is required at karten@villa-seligmann.de.
Please note that we will be taking photos and videos during this event. The image material will be published on our website and/or social media channels and used for press work. By participating, visitors to this event agree to this.
