In a live debate at the Villa Seligmann, four students from years 12 and 13 of the Helene Lange School controversially address the question of whether communication can still succeed if we no longer meet “at eye level”.

The debate will be followed by the salon discussion “Radically emotional: challenges and perspectives in the culture of debate”.

The school project Live Debate as part of the HANNAH ARENDT DAYS is an event organized by the state capital of Hanover in cooperation with Villa Seligmann and the Helene Lange School. The HANNAH ARENDT DAYS, which have been held in Hanover since 1998, commemorate the important daughter of the state capital, who was born in Linden on October 14, 1906. A series of events on a current topic with political and social issues is held annually around the birthday of the German-American political theorist. Under the motto “Start doing! Our responsibility for the future” is the motto of this year’s HANNAH ARENDT DAYS from October 12 to 16, 2021.
