Appointment of an artistic expert advisory board at the Villa Seligmann

The supporting association of the Villa Seligmann, Siegmund Seligmann Gesellschaft e. V., announces the appointment of an artistic advisory board as of November 15, 2023. The Expert Council will commence its activities in January 2024.

The first-ever Expert Advisory Board is made up of internationally renowned representatives of scholarship and performance practice of Jewish music in various forms. In its first appointment, the honorary body consists of seven members who are based in Germany, the United States, Israel and Canada. Each imember represents different aspects and facets of Jewish musical and cultural heritage and acts as an “ambassador” for the Villa Seligmann in their respective networks.

The Artistic Expert Advisory Board supports and advises the Managing Director, Eliah Sakakushev-von Bismarck, as well as the supporting bodies of the Villa Seligmann in the content-related examination of Jewish music, the artistic planning of events and the strategic further development of the Villa Seligmann as a cultural center. The committee is coordinated by the Managing Director of the Villa Seligmann.

Furthermore, the Advisory Board makes a significant contribution to the international networking and visibility of the Villa Seligmann as a meeting place with appeal beyond Germany’s borders.

The advisory board is honorary. It can be expanded and renewed at any time and without restriction. There is no legal recourse for the appointment of new members. The appointment of the committee is mentioned for the first time in the statutes of the Siegmund Seligmann Foundation under § 9a in the new version of September 30, 2009.
