The song recital “Das Narrenschiff – Lieder zwischen Wahnsinn und Widerstand” explores music as an expression of dignity and inner freedom in times of political persecution.<\/p>\n

The focus of the evening is the Dutch-Jewish composer Rosy Wertheim (1888-1949). During the National Socialist occupation, she secretly organized so-called “zwarte avonden” – forbidden song recitals in which her own compositions were also performed. This music became a place of spiritual resistance and self-assertion against exclusion and violence. <\/p>\n

The program is complemented by compositions by the Dutch swing duo Johnny & Jones, Max Kowalski and his own arrangements of well-known Jewish melodies, which reflect different facets of Jewish musical experience between irony, memory and existential depth.<\/p>\n

The duo haqolot combines these works into a concentrated song recital that poses a timeless question: How can music remain an expression of human dignity even under the most adverse conditions?<\/p>\n

Haqolot<\/strong> – Hebrew for “the voices” – is a song duo with a focus on ostracized music. Music composed by Jewish and politically persecuted composers of the Nazi era, which was banned at the time and has largely been forgotten today. The duo, consisting of singer Anna Langner and pianist and arranger Cornelius Rauch, combines classical songs, jazz and chansons with texts and literature from the first half of the 20th century. A song recital that touches, tells stories and spreads hope in an approachable way. <\/p>\n

The duo was awarded the DICK-KATTENBURG-SONDERPREIS at the Festival for Ostracized Music in Schwerin for their work and interpretations.<\/p>\n

\n

Anna Langner<\/strong><\/p>\n

Born in Spreewald, she studied both popular music and classical singing at the HMT Rostock and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London and completed her master’s degree in music theater at the Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Tilburg with distinction in 2021. In addition to her work on stage, she also works as a vocal coach and dubbing artist. <\/p>\n

Cornelius Rauch<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rauch is a musical crossover artist between the worlds of classical and popular music. While still at school, he worked as an orchestral pianist for the Junge Sinfoniker OWL and also played in the school big band and at local jazz sessions. <\/span>Current projects include his work in the Hanover-based ASAMBURA ensemble and in the jazz quintet DESTINESIA, which he founded. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n [\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n
