[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The Hannah Arendt Days 2024 in Hanover: Without ifs and buts? “What freedom is and can be” <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Hannah Arendt has always dealt with controversial topics – in her texts and in front of an audience. But the style of public debate has changed profoundly; public discourse has become heated and hurtful. In addition, digital mass communication accelerates and intensifies debates, which become all the more emotionally charged the stronger the calls for more rationality. It seems almost impossible to return to constructive communication and develop solutions to problems. <\/p>\n

How can this dilemma be resolved? For Maren Urner, politics should be understood as a negotiation process about different feelings and can be emotional. People argue about controversial ideas of freedom based on their feelings, e.g. on questions of mobility or nutrition. The neuroscientist analyzes how emotions work in politics and explains tools for dealing with them better. This also requires an update of our understanding of freedom. <\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Maren Urner<\/strong>\u00a0ist Neurowissenschaftlerin und seit September 2024 Professorin f\u00fcr Nachhaltige Transformation an der FH M\u00fcnster. Sie studierte Kognitions- und Neurowissenschaften u. a. an der McGill University in Montreal, Kanada, und wurde am University College London in Neurowissenschaften promoviert. 2016 Co-Gr\u00fcndung des werbefreien Online-Magazins Perspective Daily f\u00fcr Konstruktiven Journalismus. Sie leitete die Redaktion bis M\u00e4rz 2019 als Chefredakteurin und war Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrerin. Danach war sie bis August 2024 als Professorin f\u00fcr Medienpsychologie an der Media University of Applied Sciences in K\u00f6ln t\u00e4tig. Seit September 2020 ist sie Kolumnistin bei der Frankfurter Rundschau. Zuletzt erschien ihr Buch \u201eRadikal emotional: Wie Gef\u00fchle Politik machen\u201c (Droemer 2024). Sie ist Preistr\u00e4gerin des B.A.U.M. Umwelt- und Nachhaltigkeitspreises 2023 in der Kategorie Wissenschaft.<\/p>\n

Dr. Ulrich K\u00fchn<\/strong>\u00a0studierte Theaterwissenschaft, Neuere deutsche Literatur und Philosophie in Berlin und M\u00fcnchen. Er ist Kulturjournalist und arbeitet seit 2009 als Rundfunkredakteur in leitenden Funktio\u00acnen. Er besch\u00e4ftigt sich u. a. mit der Frage, wie sich eine Gesellschaft in ihren Debatten, ihrer Sprachkultur zeigt und was sie damit \u00fcber ihren Blick auf die Welt offenlegt<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

Wer ist Hannah Arendt?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hannah Arendt, geboren am 14. Oktober 1906 in Hannover-Linden und am 04. Dezember 1975 in New York gestorben, hat als deutsch-amerikanische j\u00fcdische Denkerin politisches Urteilsverm\u00f6gen mit philosophischer Reflexion verkn\u00fcpft und sich in aktuelle gesellschaftliche Debatten leidenschaftlich eingemischt.<\/p>\n

Was sind die Hannah Arendt Tage?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mit den HANNAH ARENDT TAGEN erinnert die Landes\u00adhauptstadt Hannover an international bekannte Politik\u00adtheoretikerin, die auch unbequemen Diskussionen nicht aus dem Weg ging. Arendts Werk, vor allem ihre Kernfrage nach dem Sinn politischer Freiheit, bietet vielf\u00e4ltige Impulse f\u00fcr die gegenw\u00e4rtige und zuk\u00fcnftige gesellschaftliche Ausein\u00adandersetzung. Die Veranstaltungsreihe stellt daher j\u00e4hrlich ein aktuelles Thema aus Politik und Gesellschaft zur Debatte, um es im Sinne Arendts zu diskutieren.<\/p>\n
