[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The former family residence of factory director Siegmund Seligmann is a rare testimony to upper-class Jewry at the beginning of the 20th century<\/strong> and up until the Shoah. High-ranking guests and business partners were received in the lavishly furnished historicist villa. Today, Villa Seligmann is a house for Jewish music<\/strong> and a place for living Jewish culture. With a creative variety of concerts, readings, exhibitions and conferences, the house opens its doors to all interested visitors, regardless of religion or cultural background<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In 2022, Villa Seligmann will celebrate its tenth anniversary<\/strong> as a cultural center and educational institution.<\/p>\n

At the
\n Night of the Museums<\/strong>
\n<\/a> visitors have the opportunity to gain an insight into the history of the house and family<\/strong>, but also into the process of the elaborate restoration. Also open to visitors are the documentary exhibition “Liberated! And then?”<\/a> <\/strong>and the photographic documentation “Werkgruppe” by Natalie Kriwy. Guests can also look forward to a “Meet and Greet” with Eliah Sakakushev-von Bismarck<\/strong>, Director of Villa Seligmann. Piano and organ music<\/strong> will also be performed on the villa’s own synagogue organ.<\/p>\n

Tickets<\/h4>\n

The Night of the Museums costs a one-off fee of 7 euros<\/strong>, children up to the age of 14 have free admission. Tickets are available at the participating museums during the Museum Night. They entitle the holder to admission to all participating houses. Further information can be found at

The young Israeli musician Ofer Stolarov has won several international competitions and takes part in a large number of concerts and projects as a soloist and ensemble member. During the Night of the Museums, Stolarov will play compositions by Lewandowski, Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Gershwin and others.<\/p>\n

Fates of victims of Nazi persecution<\/h5>\n

The traveling exhibition
\n “Liberated! And then?”<\/a>
\n<\/strong>, which was conceived by the Bergen-Belsen Memorial in cooperation with students from Leibniz Universit\u00e4t Hannover, sheds light on the uncertain situation and exemplary lives of those persecuted by the Nazis after their liberation in spring 1945.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong> (1979) reflects the (momentary) lives of concentration camp survivors, former World War II soldiers and SS members in their private surroundings. The photographic work consists of portraits accompanied by handwritten comments by the protagonists depicted, in which personal experiences from the Second World War are reflected.<\/p>\n

Prior registration for the respective program focus is not required.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The capacity of the house corresponds to a maximum occupancy rate. 50 people at once. <\/strong>Please be prepared for waiting times at the entrance when you visit, but you are welcome to relax in the garden of Villa Seligmann and enjoy food, drink and spontaneous encounters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The visit takes the form of a tour.
\nThe program focuses alternate and usually last 20-30 minutes.<\/p>\n

The last admission is at 10.30 pm. The Night of the Museums at Villa Seligmann ends at 11.00 pm.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Villa Seligmann is not barrier-free.<\/strong><\/p>\n
