The educational program at Villa Seligmann<\/h2>\n

Villa Seligmann offers a comprehensive educational program for people of all ages. With its interdisciplinary learning concepts, it is primarily aimed at schools, but also at interested adults. <\/p>\n

The focus is on Jewish music, religion, culture and the diverse realities of Jewish life worldwide. Villa Seligmann sees itself as a meeting place for Jewish life in all its diversity in Germany and actively promotes dialog between different cultures and world views. <\/p>\n

Villa Seligmann aims to contribute to the long-term preservation and strengthening of democratic values through various educational programs. We welcome all interested parties, whether children, young people or adults. We look forward to exchanging ideas and learning together – from each other and with each other. <\/p>\n

Offer for the Abitur focus topic in history “Jewish life in Germany in the long 19th century”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In the period <\/span>January to July 2026<\/span> the Villa is offering a comprehensive program on the Abitur focus topic in history “Jewish life in Germany in the long 19th century”. The offer takes place in cooperation with the Hanoverian historian Dr. Peter Schulze. <\/span>On the following pages, various formats are broken down as “modules”, which can be attended individually or in combination, adapted to the curriculum.<\/span><\/p>\n

The on-site services at Villa Seligmann are generally available from <\/span>Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm<\/span> to book. The external offers are possible by arrangement. If you are interested, please contact us to plan your individual visit. <\/span><\/p>\n

Special events<\/strong><\/p>\n

May 07: Talk concert with the “Duo Haqolot”<\/span><\/p>\n

On the morning of May 7, the “Duo Haqolot”<\/a> is offering a talk concert for school classes at Villa Seligmann. The event is suitable for pupils from the 10th grade upwards. <\/p>\n

Haqolot – Hebrew for “the voices” – is a song duo with a focus on ostracized music. Music composed by Jewish and politically persecuted composers of the Nazi era, which was banned at the time and has largely been forgotten today. The duo, consisting of singer Anna Langner and pianist and arranger Cornelius Rauch, combines classical songs, jazz and chansons with texts and literature from the first half of the 20th century. A song recital that touches, tells stories and spreads hope in an approachable way. The duo was awarded the DICK-KATTENBURG-SONDERPREIS at the Festival for Ostracized Music in Schwerin for their work and interpretations.<\/p>\n

June 11: Reading with author Ron Segal<\/span><\/p>\n

On the morning of June 11, author Ron Segal will be offering a reading of his book “Every Day Like Today”<\/a>. The event is suitable for pupils in year 9 and above. <\/p>\n

Adam Schumacher, the hero of Ron Segal’s debut novel, is a ninety-year-old Israeli writer and Holocaust survivor. Having once fled from the Nazis, he now travels back to Germany for the first time many years later to write down his memories for a literary magazine.
\nThere, of all places, where he never wanted to return, he realizes that his memory is failing him more and more often. He realizes that there is not much time left to keep his promise to his late wife: to write down the stories of both their lives before he has forgotten her. <\/p>\n

Ron Segal<\/a>, born in Israel in 1980, studied at the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School in Jerusalem. His graduation film was shown at many international festivals and the screenplay he wrote won an award from the Goethe Institute. He has lived in Berlin intermittently since 2009, most recently as a fellow of the Akademie der K\u00fcnste zu Berlin to complete an animated film on “Every Day Like Today”. <\/p>\n
